>coffee pavilion

The ‘Coffee Pavilion’ is an installation designed as part of the central camp at the Burning Man festival, in Nevada Desert.

The scheme is a low-cost design, based on modular parts that fit to each other and form the final pavilion. Following a previous study on strength and bending capabilities of identical wooden components, the components are set together to form 3D spiral structures.

Through an intelligent system, coffee bags (which are hanged in between of the structure) are connected to a pipe-system which when triggered by human presence, automatically prepares the coffee portion.
