The ‘fetish’ project explores aspects of fetishisation in architecture, considering
individual and social processes, protocols and rituals of aestheticisation, as well
as exuberant objects of desire, lust and passion.
The object of interest here is the ‘evil eye amulet’, a blue glassed amulet which
represents the human eye and is believed to protect his owner from injuries or misfortunes.
The belief on supernatural qualities of the amulet is found in a wide range of societies,
where the amulet is directly related with health and well-being.
In the social context of Moscow, the abstract notion of the ‘evil eye’ has been translated
into the architecture of a ‘Market of Replica Luxury Products’.
